Not Quite Brothers

THIS SHOW IS AGES 21+ ONLY
Not Quite Brothers is Central Iowa's fastest-growing cover band. Formed in 2018, the band quickly became known for their huge sound, eclectic setlist, and ability to elevate any party or event. Fans of all ages agree: "It feels like I'm watching the band they're covering in their heyday."
Not Quite Brothers was born out of an acoustic trio led by twins Sam Johnson (vocals) and Isaac Johnson (guitar). Shortly after graduating high school, the group found themselves in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where they added Cooper Corcoran (guitar), Ben Schmelzer (drums), and Nathan Klein (bass). While only Sam and Isaac are actually related, the five musicians are as tight as brothers... but not quite.
After cutting their teeth in roadside bars throughout East and Central Iowa, the band signed with Atomic Music Group in late 2019. Following the pandemic, they toured the Midwest while doubling down on their mission of keeping classic rock alive. Along the way, they've shared the stage with acts including Night Ranger, Tesla, Foghat, FireHouse, and Buckcherry, many of whom they first discovered through their parents' iTunes libraries.
In 2023, the band returned home to the legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, where they released their first live album, Not Quite Brothers: Live at the Surf Ballroom. The album features 12 fan-favorite hits and captures the energy that has become the band's trademark.
With live performances being their specialty, Not Quite Brothers delivers a celebration of the timeless songs audiences know and love. Their setlist spans five generations, from Aerosmith, Ratt, Tom Petty, and Johnny Cash to The Killers, Nickelback, Shania Twain, and Eric Church, all while carrying the energy and emotion of a concert from decades past.
When asked why they're playing songs written before they were born, there's only one true answer: these kids were raised on rock 'n' roll.
